Winterised Attefall house for year-round use
A winterised Attefall house must be possible to heat and use even when it is below freezing outside. That requires well-insulated walls, floor and roof, an airtight build and water pipes protected against frost. We state the exact insulation values for your house in the quote.

What does winterised mean?
The term ("vinterbonat") has no legal definition. In practice most people mean a house you can live or sleep in all winter without it getting cold or damp or the pipes freezing.
Four things to ask about
- Insulation in floor, walls and roof – thickness and material.
- Windows and door – how well they retain heat.
- Heating – radiators, an air-source heat pump or something else, and whether the electricity supply is sufficient.
- Water and drainage – frost-protected routing from the foundation into the house.
Will the house be a permanent home?
If the house becomes a self-contained dwelling, it is a "komplementbostadshus" (supplementary dwelling) under the Planning and Building Act, and the technical requirements for dwellings apply. Boverket (the Swedish National Board of Housing) states that a self-contained dwelling must have space for sleeping, resting, cooking, eating, hygiene and storage. Holiday homes have certain exemptions from the requirements.
Tell us in your request how you plan to use the house, and we will specify the build accordingly. You can see the cost on price for a winterised version.
