Attefall house with a loft

A loft does not increase the building area, which is measured on the ground, so it can add a sleeping place without affecting the plot's allowance. The limit is height: inside a detailed plan the ridge may be at most 4.0 metres, outside 4.5 metres. Whether a loft fits in our model we confirm with a drawing in the quote.

How height is measured

According to the practice Boverket refers to, ridge height is measured from the average ground level next to the building up to the highest point of the roof structure. If the house stands on tall piers on a sloping plot, the foundation height eats into part of the margin.

What does a loft need?

  • Enough headroom to sit up in bed.
  • A safe staircase or ladder and a railing.
  • Ventilation, since warm air collects up high.

Our answer

The standard model is built to be transported in one piece, and the transport height limits how high the roof can be. If you want a loft, mention it when we reply to your request. We tell you honestly whether it works before you order.
