Attefall house 20 sqm – and why 18 m² can be smarter

A 20 sqm house and our 18 m² house feel almost the same size indoors. The difference shows mostly in the plot's allowance: every square metre you save can be used for a shed, a carport or a greenhouse, which also count.

The building area is calculated according to Swedish standard SS 21054:2020 and measured at the outside of the façade above the plinth. Roof overhangs may count depending on how deep and how high they are. We state the house's building area on the drawing that comes with the quote.

What fits in 18–20 m²?

  • A double bed or sofa bed
  • A kitchen with hob, sink and fridge
  • A separate toilet with washbasin
  • A small table for two

If you want a house of exactly 20 sqm, say so in your request. Read on about 25 sqm or about the rules.
