Attefall house 15 sqm – compared with our 18 m² model
Our standard model is 6 × 3 metres, i.e. 18 m². That is three square metres more than the classic 15 m² size, which came from the old friggebod rule. The extra metres make room for a separate toilet without shrinking the kitchen.
Updated

House 6 × 3 m, 18 m², kitchen and toilet. Foundation and connections not included.
What three square metres do
At 15 m² you often have to choose between a kitchen and a toilet, or squeeze both in. At 18 m² we fit a kitchen counter along one wall, a separate toilet room and still an open area for a bed or sofa.
| Dimensions | Area | Typical layout |
|---|---|---|
| 5 × 3 m | 15 m² | One room, sometimes a kitchenette |
| 6 × 3 m (our model) | 18 m² | Room, kitchen along the wall, separate toilet |
Does 15 sqm matter legally today?
No, not as a separate limit. Since 1 December 2025 the limits for permit-free outbuildings are 30.0 m² inside a detailed plan and 50.0 m² outside. So 15 m² is no longer a magic number – what counts is the plot's total allowance.
Do you need exactly 15 m²?
If your plot has already used almost all of its allowance, it may be decisive. Mention it when we reply to your request, and we will tell you what can be done.
